Deborah's Army (A Modern Day Army of Prayer Warriors)

Deborah - a prophetess, judge, poet, encourager, warrior and ruler - a God fearing woman who possessed uncommon courage in times of great national unrest. Deborah was one of several women distinguished in Scripture by her ability to discern the purpose of God. She was the nation's wake-up call that God would deliver their nation if they would humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways.

Why Deborah? At a time when the nation of Israel was faced with the internal enemies of idolatry, moral decline and ineffective leadership in church and government and the external enemy of Jabin, king of Canann, Deborah's God-given wisdom and her commitment to Him inspired the people to believe in the promise that God would deliver them. Deborah led the nation into battle with physical weapons - swords, knives, chariots and horses - but God gave the victory because of her faith and her obedience.
